Glasgow Update
Here's another Glasgow update from Fox Cross Solicitors - which explains the latest position in relation to outstanding claims and the ongoing challenge to the WPBR.
Regular readers will know that the trade unions are not challenging the WPBR in Glasgow - despite the fact that the 'rules' appear to be designed to favour traditional male jobs.
Glasgow City Council – First wave settlements and Second wave WPBR complaints
We continue to work towards the conclusion of the settlement of complaints following the GMF last year.
The vast majority of clients have received settlements but some cases require particular investigation.
Where anyone has moved house or changed names due to marriage or divorce we are required to make amendments to the original legal complaint. This is highly bureaucratic and is slowing the settlement process down but we can assure all clients that we are working very hard to bring all settlements to a conclusion.
There is a CMD at the tribunal in Glasgow on Monday 18th October at 10am. We will discuss further procedure in relation to these first wave complaints and the second wave WPBR complaints from January 2007.
The result of the investigation by the EHRC is not yet known and this may delay further procedure.
We have written to all Glasgow claimants recently and asked that you contact us if you have left the Council’s employment or changed jobs in order to update our records.
It is very important that you keep us advised and we ask that you put any changes in writing.
