I don't know who won Woman of the Year 2022 - could have been a bloke in a dress for all I know.

But if there's any justice JK Rowling should be a shoo-in for Scotland's Woman of the Year 2024.

Not just for ensuring that victims of sexual violence in Edinburgh can access women-only support without having to agree with self-ID, but for her role in standing up for women's rights generally - including their rights to single sex spaces.

Scotland's Woman of the Year 2022 must surely be JK Rowling who has been unflinching in her support for women's rights.

Not only that JK put her money where her mouth is by opening up Beira's Place - a new advocacy/support service for women who have experienced sexual violence.

So here's the issue - two Glasgow MSPs (Nicola Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf) have been asked a reasonable question about their use of public money to employ two SNP councillors who already have full-time, salaried jobs as senior elected members of Glasgow City Council.   But these two public servants (both long-serving ministers) refuse to answer, so what to do next? One regular reader suggests raising the matter on the floor of the Scottish Parliament which is a good idea, but requires an MSP who's prepared to put down a written question for Scottish Ministers to answer.
