Sturgeon Flies Out

As the council workers strike escalates Nicola Sturgeon flies out to open a new ScotGov office in Denmark which costs the public purse £600,000 a year.

What 'added value' this brings back to Scotland has yet to be explained, but The Herald points out that this foreign trip comes on top of the First Minister's third appearance at the Edinburgh Fringe and second visit to the Edinburgh Book Festival.

Performance art or serious government?

First Minister and SNP Priorities (August 24, 2022)

The First Minister is off to her third appearance at the Edinburgh Fringe instead of meeting COSLA and union leaders as the council workers strike escalates.

Susan Dalgety's characterisation of Nicola Sturgeon and the SNP as 'government by performance art' is spot on and so very timely!
