God Above, SNP!

As yet another sex scandal engulfs the SNP it's time to ask an important question.

A party in power for 15 years must attracts more than its fair share of cranks and weirdos, but is the SNP really capable of cleaning up its own act?

Recent history suggests not and that all anyone requires to rise within the ranks of the SNP is unswerving support for independence and craven loyalty to the party leadership.

SNP - Mired In Scandal (August 02, 2022)

One of the stock answers when trouble strikes the SNP (a frequent occurrence these days) is to insist that 'lessons will be learned'.

The big problem is that no one ever explains exactly what these lessons are and who will be doing the learning.

But on the basis that prevention is better that cure, maybe it's time to revisit Nicola Sturgeon's idea of introducing a 'fit and proper person test' - only this time for SNP politicians rather than footballers?

'Fit and Proper Person' Test? (July 06, 2022)

So you think you're fit and proper? - Alcohol and Advocacy

Given the series of unfortunate events which have befallen the party recently, I wonder if Nicola Sturgeon will now consider extending her idea of a 'fit and proper person' test to the SNP?

Nicola Sturgeon says test for 'fit and proper' footballers should be considered amid Goodwillie row

The issue has arisen after the furore over David Goodwillie signing for Raith Rovers.

Nicola Sturgeon believes calls for a “fit and proper” person test for footballers should be considered.

The First Minister was asked about the issue in the wake of footballer David Goodwillie, who was found to have raped a woman by a civil court, signing for Raith Rovers.

Operation - Clean Up The SNP! (August 22, 2022)

Nicola Sturgeon says the SNP will play its part in calling out abuse and bad behaviour in Scottish politics.

I would think so too because as the party of government for the past 15 years the SNP has to lead by example.

But how does this square with the fact someone like Alexandria Adamson can rise to a leadership position with the party as the SNP's disabilities officer.
