Brian Cox - Strange Socialist

Brian Cox says he’s a socialist.

If true he’s supporting a non-socialist party which has no regard for even social justice, eg how can key workers in the NHS be offered an across the board pay rise of 4% yet essential workers in local councils be worth so much less?

Truth is that the SNP are a party of the 'haves' rather that he have nots and their key policies are all targeted on the middle classes - from tuition fees to abolishing the council tax for under 22-year-olds.

Where Has All The Money Gone? (July 19, 2021)

Iain Macwhirter makes a fair point about where all the extra spending has gone under the last 14 years of the SNP, but the answer is that the lion's share has been directed at Scotland's professional middle classes - not the 'have nots' and less well off.

On things like abolishing the council tax for under 22-year-olds or providing tablets and laptops to families who don't need the extra help.

SNP Favour 'Haves' Over 'Have Nots' (April 09, 2021)

Yet another dumb policy from the SNP which actually widens the gap because the 'haves' and 'have nots'.

This latest policy does nothing to assist people who are really struggling - yet frees up even more resources for parents who are perfectly capable of providing breakfast and lunch for their kids.

Another Ridiculous SNP Policy (01/04/21)

Neil Findlay makes a fair point - in my Glasgow apartment building lots of young people lived in flats bought for them by their parents.

Nice neighbours in the main, but there's absolutely no reason for them not to pay council tax.

What a ridiculous waste of public money.

Another Ridiculous 'One Size Fits All' Policy (31/03/21)

Nicola Sturgeon took a bit of a pasting over her laptop and tablet policy in last night's leaders debate.

Challenged to explain why this wasn't done months ago during lockdown Nicola explained the government was concentrating on those in real need.

So presumably the plan is now to switch focus to providing a second tablet or laptop to all those who already have one?

Another Ridiculous 'One Size Fits All' Policy (29/03/21)

Another wasteful 'one size fits all' policy from the SNP even though most children and young people have had their own tablets or laptops for years.

Closing the gap in education means putting more and better resources into those lagging behind instead of pretending that everyone needs the same leg up.

After 14 years in power and a year into Covid lockdown this just smacks of another election gimmick.
