Glasgow's Local Services - Shut Down Again
Glasgow Life has been closed throughout the Covid pandemic which means that the city's museums and leisure facilities have been closed to the public for months on end.
As far as I know the 2,500 staff employed by Glasgow Life have not been redeployed to help other 'essential services' during this period.
Yet all of a sudden Glasgow Life staff are being reassigned to other duties during COP26 which means important local services are being shut down again.
Someone please tell me this latest disruption is not about keeping the Glasgow plebs out of local public spaces like Kelvingrove Art Gallery so that SNP politicians can rub shoulders freely with the 'great and good' at COP26.
COP26, Kelvin Way and Road Closures (October 25, 2021)
Glasgow City Council has posted the following information on Twitter:
As part of #COP26 preparations, please note that Kelvin Way will temporarily close to all traffic including walkers, wheelers & cyclists on the following dates:
Friday 29 October to Tuesday 2 November
Friday 5 November to Saturday 6 November.
No reasons or explanation is given which is rather odd especially as Kelvin Way is not very close to the site of COP26 and the surrounding roads are being closed.
So what's going on GCC?
