I wonder how long it will be before this Aberdeenshire councillor gets the same - 'Who's Cllr Blackett?' - treatment as her colleague David Baird?
Interestingly, Cllr Blackett cites one of her main concerns as the state of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
Cllr David Baird Who? (August 20, 2021)
At 39 years Cllr David Baird must have been a member of the SNP longer than Nicola Sturgeon, but the party has already reduced him to 'David Who?"after criticising the current leadership and jumping ship to Alba.
For years Cllr Baird was good enough to represent the SNP, but now the party takes a different view and says he "lives in a parallel universe" which is a rather odd thing to say about such a long-serving member.
SNP - Carry On Screaming! (August 18, 2021)
I don't imagine anyone would characterise David Blair's defection from the SNP as a hammer blow, but it's still significant in its own small way.
Cllr Baird (an SNP member for 39 years) blasts the party for its intolerance - "Your cannot have a debate without being shouted down" - and compares the SNP to the famous scream scene from the movie 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers' starring Donald Sutherland.
I think this is the scene Cllr Baird means, but if he's right SNP meetings must be hell these days!
