Scottish Ministers - At The Coo's Tail

Scottish Ministers at the coo's tail again as they finally relent and allow travellers to choose from a wider range of Covid test providers.

The change comes after a complaint to the Competition and Markets Authority that Scottish travellers were being ripped off.

I had an interesting Twitter exchange about my 'Travellers vs Football Fans' post from Theresa who said:

"Moral of the story........don't go abroad!"

Which is selfish and very unfair because lots of people have friends and family abroad whom they've not seen since the start of the Covid crisis.

The real issue is whether the vaccine and testing make travel safe, as well as the much more favourable treatment on Covid testing shown towards football fans.

Great article in the Sunday Post by Peter Swindon who exposes the lengths Scottish Ministers went to over a special fan zone for the Euro football finals - including posting out Covid testing kits free of charge.  

Yet folks returning to Scotland after a trip abroad are being told to fork out £170 each for two Covid tests which can only be obtained through a company that's been hand-picked by Scottish Ministers.

SNP - Conspiracy of Silence

So here's the issue - two Glasgow MSPs (Nicola Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf) have been asked a reasonable question about their use of public money to employ two SNP councillors who already have full-time, salaried jobs as senior elected members of Glasgow City Council.   But these two public servants (both long-serving ministers) refuse to answer, so what to do next? One regular reader suggests raising the matter on the floor of the Scottish Parliament which is a good idea, but requires an MSP who's prepared to put down a written question for Scottish Ministers to answer.
