Pots, Kettles and Nappies

All governments end up mired in sleaze because power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Nicola Sturgeon's finance secretary (Derek Mackay) had to resign over sex pest allegations which were never investigated properly by the SNP.

Two SNP MPs at Westminster (Patrick Grady and Patricia Gibson) are under investigation after an SNP staff member complained of sexual harassment.

Two former SNP MPs have appeared in court recently - Margaret Ferrier, for a flagrant breach of Covid safety rules, and Natalie McGarry, over charges of embezzlement.

Worst of all, arguably, was the Scottish Government's handling of harassment allegations against Alex Salmond who was granted privileged and private (no notes no records) access to Nicola Sturgeon for months.

In the process, two women complainers were denied justice by the Scottish Government's bizarre behaviour which was declared unlawful by Scotland's  highest civil court while costing the public purse more than £600,000.

So in the words of Mark Twain - "Politicians and nappies (diapers) must be changed often, and for the same reason."
