Scotland - Drug Death Capital of Europe
I haven't yet read the detail of the Scottish Government's new policy to tackle Scotland's record as the 'drug death' capital of Europe.BREAKING: @NicolaSturgeon has announced an extra £250 million over the next five years to help tackle the "national disgrace" of drug-related deaths. https://t.co/fR8jxesKpQ

Essentially ministers have been shamed into allocating an extra £50 million a year for the next five years which is a start, but the reality is that the number of drug deaths in Scotland has doubled since 2014.
So I'll be interested to learn how success or failure in policy terms will be measured given that Nicola Sturgeon has been a Glasgow MSP for the past 21 years and the SNP have been in government since 2007.
