Pictures Tell a Story

Unlike other Labour MPs, Gordon Brown is not attending the Labour Party conference in Brighton this week - nor is he back in Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath working hard on behalf of his local constituents.

Instead the former Labour leader and Prime Minister is out of the country - which is par for the course these days - at the United Nations building in New York where he was invited by the Telegraph newspaper to comment on his role in the Damian McBride 'McPoison' affair.

But rather than face up to the awkward questions Gordon scuttled away and refused to answer for anything - which I take great exception to I have to say because while he's enjoying his stay in the Big Apple, Gordon is still on the public payroll - drawing his MP's salary from the public purse.

Whereas Damian McBride appeared on Newsnight last night - and at least has the 'bottle' to face some of his many critics.
