Encouraging Words
Here are a few more encouraging words from regular readers - welcoming the good news about the right to Freedom of Information and the UK Supreme Court.
"Well done on your Supreme Court win justice for the workers! South Lanarkshire Council being a Labour Council they should be ashamed of themselves"
"Hi Mark,
Well done with the success of your crusade! Perseverance pays off."

"Dear Mark,
I have to write to congratulate you for the recent victory at the Supreme Court, I never doubted that we would win it but I am grateful for all your hard work."
"Maaaaaaaark!!!! You are a total genius and I'm so proud of you. Well done and lots of congratulations."
"Would it not be nice to hear a comment from the Scottish Labour leader (Johann Lamont) about the South Lanarkshire decision - or will she continue to sit on the side lines and wash her hands of Mr McAvoy and his council's behaviour."
"Forcing a Stalinist regime to bow to the power of the courts in such a weak cause as gender equality is the work of an unrepentant dissident. Shame on you. You will pay a price and even now I believe the Honours Committee is scrubbing your discredited name from the list."
I am the first person to say that this could not have been achieved without the Scottish Information Commissioner (Kevin Dunion at the time) and the SIC staff having the courage of their convictions - to see this case through to the bitter end.
Instead of abiding by the original decision of the independent SIC, South Lanarkshire continued to spend huge sums of public money in further fruitless appeals to the Court of Session in Scotland where they lost unanimously - and to the UK Supreme Court where they again lost unanimously.
But the SIC refused to be intimidated by these tactics and stuck to their guns under Margaret Keyes (Head of Enforcement) and Rosemary Agnew, the new Commissioner who took over from Kevin Dunion.
