Common Ground vs Gender Ideology
Nicola Sturgeon first speech as FM 2014: 'I want all members to know that where we are on common ground - and I want to find as much of that as I can - you will find in me a willing and listening ally.' #fmqs https://t.co/E3iZCvCvim

What a load of old bollix this turned out to be, as evidenced by the First Minister's support for the hotly disputed policy of self-identification for people to change sex under the law - despite opposition from the great majority of Scots.
Medical Oversight vs DIY and Self-ID (January 14, 2022)
Nicola Sturgeon is being disingenuous in suggesting that that reforming the Gender Recognition Act is not really controversial because the right to change sex under the law already exists.
Indeed it does, but the current process is led by medical oversight and not by the absurd notion that people should be able to declare themselves male or female, as they wish, via what amounts to a process of self-identification.
Medical Oversight vs Self-ID (December 28, 2021)
I'm not the world's biggest expert, but I know that women must be medically assessed to access a wide range health treatments issues including:
- HRT
- IVF
- Cesarian section
- Hysterectomy
- Breast reduction
So what sense does it make to argue that professional medical oversight is not required and that self-ID is all that's necessary for people to change their sex by law?
Medical Oversight and Changing Sex (December 17, 2021)
The majority of Scots agree there should be proper medical oversight of any person wishing change their sex by law.
Not surprising when you consider that women require a medical referral to terminate a pregnancy and also that medical oversight is built into proposed new laws on assisted dying.
