Let me introduce readers to 'Macaroni' a 14-week-old Dachshund who's been on the picket lines since before 7am - supporting the fight for equal pay in Glasgow City Council.

When I get the chance I'm going to ask if Macaroni agrees, that Annemarie O'Donnell should step down as Glasgow's chief executive - since she's obviously well 'pasta' her best.

Let me introduce readers to Winston the Weimaraner who has been lending his enthusiastic support to the fight for equal pay in Glasgow City Council.

I have asked Winston's owner if I can get him a big bone from the butcher and take him out for a walk when this is all over - though I cannot say I'd do the same for some of the Council's officials.

In Glasgow, even the dogs on the street know it's important for union members to return their GMB or Unison ballot papers - and to support fight for equal pay with Glasgow City Council.

So here's the issue - two Glasgow MSPs (Nicola Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf) have been asked a reasonable question about their use of public money to employ two SNP councillors who already have full-time, salaried jobs as senior elected members of Glasgow City Council.   But these two public servants (both long-serving ministers) refuse to answer, so what to do next? One regular reader suggests raising the matter on the floor of the Scottish Parliament which is a good idea, but requires an MSP who's prepared to put down a written question for Scottish Ministers to answer. So here's a list of activities which will help shine a light on what has been going on because as Lord Nolan once said apropos driving up standards in public life - 'daylight is the best disinfectant'.
