Alex Rowley: Alex.Rowley.msp@scottish.parliament.uk

Now between them these two gentleman ought to know where all the bodies are buried in relation to equal pay in Fife and the development of new pay arrangements which have, predictably, left the majority of women's jobs at the bottom of the pay ladder.

Here's are two photographs of David and Alex (in that order) along with an extract from the Council's web site announcing the appointment of the new Labour leader.

Council Leader David Ross

Fife Council has a new Leader following a meeting of the Full Council.
Cllr David Ross, former depute leader of the council takes over the role from Cllr Alex Rowley who has stepped down since recently being elected as MSP for Cowdenbeath. Cllr Lesley Laird, who is the council’s executive spokesperson for business, enterprise, economy and planning has been elected as depute leader.
Provost Jim Leishman this morning congratulated Cllr Ross and paid tribute to the leadership of Cllr Rowley: “Alex has shown tremendous passion and commitment in his role as council leader and the council is better off for it.
“I’m sure he’ll embrace his new role as MSP with the same vigour that he has given to Fife Council over many years.”
Council Leader David Ross added: “I hope I can live up to Alex’s example and demonstrate the enthusiasm and commitment Alex shows to the people of Fife. He’s a hard act to follow but I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead and building on what’s already been achieved. We’ll continue to provide high quality services with a focus on education, creating jobs for Fifers and improving the health and wellbeing of our communities.”
