Brilliant Blossoms

Who would have imagined that a bunch of guys known collectively as the 'Blossoms'' would have turned over one of the best rugby nations in the world, but that's exactly what Team Japan did to South Africa in one of the opening games of the World Cup tournament.

The BBC reported that Japan had not won a World Cup game since 1991, while their South Africa opponents (who were winners in 1995 and 2007) had never before lost their opening game of the tournament.

But in an pulsating match the Blossoms managed to beat the Springboks by 34-32 and played for a win all the way to the end of the game, the only down side of which is that Scotland are next in line to play Team Japan.
