Cliche-Ridden Claptrap

I listened to Jeremy Corbyn gives his leadership victory speech and as expected it was completely uninspiring and full of cliche-ridden claptrap.

Now speaking in general terms about issues like equality is no substitute for explaining why Labour-run councils and Labour-supporting trade unions have failed miserably to deliver on their promises over equal pay, for example.

Yet all Jezza had to say to the brothers and sisters were warm words as he welcomed some striking PCS members to the conference which gained him a predictable round of applause.

But what are the new Labour leader's views on more difficult questions such as the 500 GMB members in North Lanarkshire who are fighting GMB Scotland over their equal pay claims, as well the local Labour council?

So might Jeremy call a 'spade a spade' over the incompetent advice given to Unison members in South Lanarkshire?

Members who were urged not to pursue equal pay claims against their local Labour council and which has cost them thousands of pounds in many cases.

I also heard Jezza's speech to the annual TUC conference in Brighton which rambled all over the place and was equally woeful, at one point comparing the UK to Franco's fascist Spain which is plainly ridiculous and way over the top.

John Rentoul wrote in The Independent the other day that Corbyn seems intent on leading Labour into the wilderness and having listened to his two 'big speeches' that seems about right to me.

Jezza is definitely not the 'Messiah' and I'm not even sure he's got what it takes to be a very naughty boy.
