Guilty as Hell
The arrogance of the political establishment at Westminster is laid bare in this extract from the Dispatches programme in which Jack Straw and Malcolm Rifkind make complete fools of themselves - and their respective political parties.
Far from being sophisticated, as Jack Straw claims, what I found striking about the Channel 4 'sting' is that it was incredibly simple - the prospect of easy money for very little effort.
Both men then go on to dig an even deeper hole for themselves by giving further interviews to the BBC in which they say they did nothing wrong, behaved with complete integrity and expect to be cleared of any impropriety by the House of Commons Standards Committee.
But in the court of public opinion they're as guilty as hell.
