Selling England by the Pound

So the people have spoken and it seems there are sufficient numbers of our fellow citizens (in England and Wales at least) who are prepared to rally to the false flag of political snake-oil salesmen like Boris Johnson and his chum Nigel Farage.

 The immediate response of the Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn was to launch a predictable yet pointless attack on the terrible Tories (a major theme of his party's supposedly positive, pro-EU campaign) and claim that the people have 'rebelled' against Conservative austerity policies. 

In doing so Jeremy Corbyn leader cements his reputation as the Labour Party's answer to Inspector Clouseau by ignoring the obvious evidence of his own eyes and the fact that voters in Scotland and London rejected the charms of the 'Leave' camp by a country mile.

 What happens now remains to be seen, but those claiming a bright new dawn for the UK economy must be aware that the pound is plummeting like a stone against the US dollar and the Euro.

 I'm sure I'll be fine, personally speaking, because I'll be able to ride out the storm that is bound to follow although the same can't be said for the younger generation whose inheritance is now under threat.

 In Scotland it's a time for cool heads and some serious thinking, not least because all of the main political parties were united in their support for Remain.

SNP - Conspiracy of Silence

So here's the issue - two Glasgow MSPs (Nicola Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf) have been asked a reasonable question about their use of public money to employ two SNP councillors who already have full-time, salaried jobs as senior elected members of Glasgow City Council.   But these two public servants (both long-serving ministers) refuse to answer, so what to do next? One regular reader suggests raising the matter on the floor of the Scottish Parliament which is a good idea, but requires an MSP who's prepared to put down a written question for Scottish Ministers to answer.
