North Lanarkshire Update

Yesterday was a big day for equal pay in North Lanarkshire, a bit of a roller coaster in some ways, but having stuck to our guns we now appear to be on the home straight.

I've had lots of enquiries from readers asking what will happen next, etc. etc. and as you would expect this will all be explained in detail in the days ahead.

The first thing to do is to formalise the understanding that has been reached in a formal written agreement and that will take a day or two yet.

The various parties will then issue a jointly agreed statement which is unlikely to say a great deal other than confirm the fact their differences over equal pay have finally been resolved.

Shortly thereafter A4ES clients will receive a detailed letter explaining the basis of the proposed settlement and what it means for claimants individually.

I don't expect any hiccups this late in the day, but in my experience it's always better to be safe than sorry and so from my point of view it will be business as usual until the agreement is signed off and formalised in writing.

Then I'll throw my hat in the air.
