Being mentally unwell is not a crime, of course, but at the same time having serious mental health problems is not an excuse for harassing women, becoming a public nuisance and breaking the law. This man goes by the name of Sophie Molly - he seems to be a full-time campaigner on trans issues courtesy of the benefits system, but this kind of unhinged behaviour in public, in women's single sex spaces, is unacceptable.

Euan Weddell is a trans activist - a man who self-ID's as a woman, who calls himself Sophie Molly and likes to boast on social media about 'destroying women's rights'. What an asshole! But Euan has made a complaint to the Bar Council about Sarah Phillimore describing him as a man - incredibly his baloney complaint is being supported by Jolyon Maugham at the 'Good Law Project'. My money is on Sarah Phillimore and JK Rowling.

Who knew that Nicola Sturgeon presented a prestigious award to Campervan converter firm, Jerba Campervans? Yet she was apparently in the dark about the campervan sitting in her mother-in-law's driveway.

As Scotland's MSPs prepare to return to their day jobs at Holyrood I think's it's a good time to have a laugh at Nicola Sturgeon's expense. MSPs say they're hard at work in their constituencies when the Scottish Parliament is in recess, but Sturgeon has been pre-occupied plugging her book this summer.

Lots of excellent contributions in the latest edition of The Frontline including this opinion piece from Joani Reid on why the fight to defend women's rights is a class issue. "Working-class women understand instinctively why women's spaces and safeguarding matter. I haven't met one woman on the doorstep who considers gender ideology as anything other than dangerous and peddled by those who don't grasp the realities facing non-privileged women.  "Yet women of the so-called left, elected representatives no less, fight against single-sex spaces whilst championing sex workers' rights to 'live as they choose'." The old Edinburgh word 'Gardyloo' will take on a whole new meaning with the shocking news that an MSP is alleged to have hidden a 'spy cam' in one of the loos in the Scottish Parliament.    

I was all in favour of creating the Scottish Parliament when the issue was put to a public vote in 1997, but now I'm not so sure - because Holyrood is turning into the 'Pretendy Parliament' Billy Connolly joked about years ago. The calibre of MSPs has fallen off a cliff - the latest example being a Labour member who allegedly hid a spy cam in one of Holyrood's loos. But this nonsense comes hot on the heels of the member for Glasgow Southside, Nicola Sturgeon, who resigned as First Minister back in March 2023, but has spent much of the past 2.5 years writing and promoting a new book on Scottish politics. The same Nicola Sturgeon who has lambasted politicians in other parties for 'double jobbing' and not devoting their full-time attention to their role as MSPs or MPs. Sturgeon also set up a private company to receive her book related earnings (£300,000 and counting) which means she will avoid paying the higher rate of income tax introduced by her own SNP Scottish ...

Excellent, informative post from Sam Taylor which explains that the true cost of wind energy is much higher than John Swinney & Co claim. The reason being that windfarms such as Dorenell get paid for producing energy which is never consumed by anyone so the real cost is actually three times higher than the figure claimed by SNP ministers, ie £227/MWh not £83/MWh. Anyone for evidenced based policy-making and good, non-partisan government?     

Christina McAnea replaced Davie Prentis to become Unison's first female general secretary. But Christina, a Glaswegian, has been a big disappointment - she has failed to defend Unison's women members whose single sex spaces and rights at work are under attack from self-ID and the trans lobby.

So I think I'll draft an Emergency Motion highlighting just how badly women workers have let down by the trade unions - women like the Darlington Nurses and Sandie Peggie left to fight bullying managers and rogue employers on their own without support from Unison and the RCN, for example.   What is the point of a trade union that doesn't provide members with advice and assistance when they are most in need?  No point, I say.  Interesting fact - I won the TUC Award for Youth in 1983 which was presented to me in Blackpool that year by the then TUC General Secretary, Len Murray -  I must see if there's a photo of my award I can shar...
