Meet Scotland's New Currency - The Haggis

Mark Blyth is something of a revelation - an economist with strong political opinions and a non-tribal sense of humour.

Blyth's online contribution to a recent Festival of Economics is widely reported as raining on the SNP's Indy Parade and there's no doubt he puts a number of sacred cows to the sword including the notion of an independent currency - aka the Haggis:

"If I lived in Scotland, I'd have a bank account in Carlisle - because at least then I'd know what my money was worth."

Interesting, entertaining - and well worth a listen.
