The Smirk Has Gone!

So yet another chapter ends in the tawdry life of the SNP with the news that Michael Matheson, Scotland's health minister, has finally resigned over his handling of an £11,000 bill for his iPad.

Humza Yousaf should go to for his ill-judged defence of this two-faced minister who tired to spin and lie his way out of a self-inflicted scandal.

Conor Matchett in The Scotsman is spot on with his assessment of the Michael Matheson affair and its effect on Humza Yousaf's leadership.

The Matheson affair has drained Mr Yousaf of authority. Every day he remains in post, that grip on power loosens, his enemies spot weakness, and rifts that rippled underneath the smooth exterior of the SNP during the Sturgeon years bubble up to the surface. 

The game is up for the SNP - Matheson is doomed and so is Yousaf.

SNP - Conspiracy of Silence

So here's the issue - two Glasgow MSPs (Nicola Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf) have been asked a reasonable question about their use of public money to employ two SNP councillors who already have full-time, salaried jobs as senior elected members of Glasgow City Council.   But these two public servants (both long-serving ministers) refuse to answer, so what to do next? One regular reader suggests raising the matter on the floor of the Scottish Parliament which is a good idea, but requires an MSP who's prepared to put down a written question for Scottish Ministers to answer.
