Scotland's First Minister defended Michael Matheson right the way through this tawdry expenses scandal - solely because Matheson is a loyal, fellow member of the SNP.

If a member of any other political party had behaved in this way, Humza Yousaf would have been demanding their resignation.

Government by gang - party before principles.
