Kevin McKenna's blistering criticism of the SNP old guard is thoroughly deserved - with 'duplicity, dishonesty and arrogance' highlighted as the essential hallmarks of the Sturgeon era.

Well worth a read.

"It’s not clear yet if there are sufficient grounds to scrap the contest to succeed Ms Sturgeon. What should be occupying the minds of all three candidates though, is to what extent the winner’s tenure will be tainted by the shambles that’s been exposed at party headquarters.

"Kate Forbes and Ash Regan in particular have rendered a service to this party that offers it a chance of long-term salvation. Both have braved an extraordinary fusillade of abuse and vindictiveness simply for standing against the favoured candidate of Sturgeon/Murrell. Yet, they have maintained their dignity."

SNP - Conspiracy of Silence

So here's the issue - two Glasgow MSPs (Nicola Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf) have been asked a reasonable question about their use of public money to employ two SNP councillors who already have full-time, salaried jobs as senior elected members of Glasgow City Council.   But these two public servants (both long-serving ministers) refuse to answer, so what to do next? One regular reader suggests raising the matter on the floor of the Scottish Parliament which is a good idea, but requires an MSP who's prepared to put down a written question for Scottish Ministers to answer.
