Cronyism and Nepotism Go Hand In Hand

As far as I can see Scotland's First Minister spends most of her time promoting Nicola Sturgeon, the SNP and the cause of independence.

Instead of acting in the interests of the whole country - including those who voted for other parties or who have no great interest in politics at all.

A small but telling example is that when the First Minister visited Iceland recently, out of all the Scots writers she could have picked, Nicola chose to promote the work of her friend and SNP supporter, Val McDermid.

Bute Birthday Bash Kyboshed (November 22, 2021)

So my plans to organise a special birthday bash at Bute House have been kyboshed by the news that only close friends and supporters of Nicola Sturgeon can hire out the First Minister's official residence.

Seems a tad exclusive, unreasonable and unfair.

Does Your Face Fit......With Scotland's First Minister? (November 16, 2021)

I could be wrong, but I'm beginning to notice something of a pattern here.

The First Minister flew to Iceland recently (during the climate change 'emergency') and presented the Icelandic Prime Minister, Katrín Jakobsdóttir, with a copy of Val McDermid's new crime book, 1979.

Now we learn that Val McDermid, who is known to be a close friend of Nicola Sturgeon, was allowed to use the First Minister's official residence at Bute House to launch another new book, My Scotland.

Nicola Sturgeon said it was 'great' to catch up with Katrín Jakobsdóttir
Nicola Sturgeon was also on social media recently helping to publicise Alan Cumming's new memoir, 'Baggage'.

So I think it's fair to ask - is Nicola Sturgeon doing her best to promote Scotland or is the First Minister only interested in promoting SNP supporters and fellow nationalists?
