Rosa's Rant, Social Media and the SNP

 

After Rosa Zambonini's ill-informed drivel about  WomenWontWheest and the fight for equal pay I think it's fair to point out that she's not the only SNP staffer making herself and the party look ridiculous on social media.  

In doing so they are just following the 'lead' of various SNP MSPs and MPs - James Dornan and Peter Grant are two obvious and recent examples who spring to mind! 



  

FM's Office and Destroying Israel (July 12, 2021)

I made the same point myself the other day - the latest recruit to Nicola Sturgeon's office appears to be calling for the state of Israel to be destroyed.

Is this now official SNP policy?

   

Politicians, Pedestals and SNP Policy (July 10, 2021)

A young woman starting a new job in Nicola Sturgeon's office is understandably excited, but referring to her as 'queen' and generally hero worshipping the boss is rather disturbing. 

As is this tweet from Nikita declaring "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free" which is code language for the destruction of the state of Israel. 

I wonder if this is now official SNP policy?

Politicians and Pedestals (May 06, 2021)



So the Holyrood elections end as they began with Nicola Sturgeon pleading for another term despite having governed Scotland for the past 14 years.

Now the hero worshipping faithful might be impressed by this guff, but I've never believed in putting politicians on pedestals.

   

'Chief Mammy' Meets 'Big Brother' (April 08, 2021)


The SNP pulled out this 'big' guns with their latest party election broadcast, but perhaps not in the way intended because the advert came out like Chief Mammy Meets Big Brother.

SNP - Conspiracy of Silence

So here's the issue - two Glasgow MSPs (Nicola Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf) have been asked a reasonable question about their use of public money to employ two SNP councillors who already have full-time, salaried jobs as senior elected members of Glasgow City Council.   But these two public servants (both long-serving ministers) refuse to answer, so what to do next? One regular reader suggests raising the matter on the floor of the Scottish Parliament which is a good idea, but requires an MSP who's prepared to put down a written question for Scottish Ministers to answer. So here's a list of activities which will help shine a light on what has been going on because as Lord Nolan once said apropos driving up standards in public life - 'daylight is the best disinfectant'.
