End of Love (01/03/14)

When I was at the Jack Vettriano exhibition in Glasgow last week I learned something new - that his 'Dance Me to the End of Love' painting was inspired by the Leonard Cohen song of the same name.

So to celebrate here's the song and the painting in the same post - and isn't it strange that Dance Me to the End of Love is one of my favourite Leonard Cohen songs as well as being one of the Jack Vettriano prints that I have a home.

Power of Art (19 February 2014)

I was at the Jack Vettriano exhibition in Glasgow's Kelvingrove Art Gallery last weekend and a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon it turned out to be too.

Many of Vettriano's best and well known paintings were on display and although the art establishment can be terribly snooty about the 'quality' of his work, the Scottish public had no such doubts and queued in large numbers on the day.

I was told that up to 200,000 people may have seen the exhibition in less than 6 months and if you have the time, it's well worth a visit - open until 8pm in the evening until this coming weekend.
