Prophets v Adulterers



Given his well publicised 'trouser problem' Boris Johnson is the last politician who should be making dumb jokes about 'clutching skirts'.

 But the Conservative MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip did just that the other day as he urged Britain to stop "clutching the skirts of Brussels" while attacking an old Labour rival in Lord Peter Mandelson whom he described as a "deranged old testament prophet".

 Well I can think of lots of things I'd rather be than an old testament prophet, but being a serial cheat and adulterer is definitely nowhere near the top of my list.
