 The Independent reports that the Sultan of Brunei has introduced a ban on Christmas over fears that festive celebrations could lead the local Muslim population astray.

 Funny that the crackpot views of Donald Trump make the news headlines, yet this kind of offensive and discriminatory behaviour in an oil-rich Islamic state goes largely unreported.

Anyone found illegally celebrating Christmas in Brunei could face up to five years in prison, according to a reported declaration by the Sultan of the tiny oil-rich state.
