Freedom of Information

Here is another Freedom of Information (FoI) request to North Lanarkshire Council which is asking the Council to disclose the contents of an important report to its Corporate Management Team on the pay arrangements which flow from the introduction of a new job evaluation scheme (JES) in 2006.

Now my sources within the Council tell me that this report is 'dynamite' potentially because it may contain information to confirm that the Council was deliberately manipulating the JES process to bring about a desired outcome.

So I'll wait and see what comes back, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least because the fact is that while the 1999 Single Status (Equal Pay) Agreement was intended to bring about a new and fairer deal for many thousands of low paid jobs - the end result has been that women workers have remained stuck firmly at the bottom of the pay ladder.

Dear Mr Whitefield
FOISA Request
I would like to make the following request under the Freedom of Information Scotland Act 2002.

Please provide me with a copy of the report to the Council's Corporate Management Team (CMT) meeting held 11 August 2005 which dealt with the costs and related issues regarding North Lanarkshire's Job Evaluation Scheme (JES)?

Please include copies of all of the relevant Appendices which were attached to this report from the Director of Administration?

I look forward to your reply and would be grateful if you could respond to me by e-mail to: markirvine@compuserve.com

Kind regards
Mark Irvine
