Well Done, Sandie Peggie!


So my post about Sandie Peggie being the 'real voice of nursing' has really really taken off - lots of Likes on X, mainly from women but men are well represented too which is encouraging.  

No one likes a bully and it's to her great credit that Sandie has stood up to the bullies at Fife NHS without the support of her trade union, the RCN, which she had been a member of for 30 years.

So Sandie Peggie, a paid up member of the RCN (Royal College of Nursing) for 30 years, has decided to sue her own trade union.

More power to her elbow, I say, because what's the point of a trade union if union bureaucrats can abandon a member when the chips are down - when the member needs advice, support and proper representation?

It's taking money under false pretences if you ask me and as Unison's Head of Local Government and chief negotiator in Scotland (in a former life), I do know what I'm talking about.

Kentucky Fried Seagull

Hugh Fearnley Whitingstall is one of my favourite - and endearingly bonkers - TV chefs.
