Sandie Peggie vs RCN Union

So the results of my poll are in and the final outcome is a stunning victory for Sandie Peggie over the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) - a trade union which claims to be the 'voice of nursing'.

590 votes cast - 99.2% for Sandie Peggie and just 0.2% for the RCN!

Now if this is anything to go by it is the RCN which is out of step with public opinion and Sandie Peggie is now suing the union which she was a member of for 30 years - rightly so in my opinion.

Sandie Peggie's case has struck a chord with the public because no one likes a bully and it's clear the bureaucrats at Fife NHS have been bullying Sandie and her co-workers over self-ID and the absurd notion that men can magically declare they are women.

What's even more disturbing its that trade unions seem to have taken the side of management instead of doing their job which is to stand up for and represent the views of grassroots union members.

In a previous life I was a senior trade union figure as Unison's Head of Local Government and chief negotiator in Scotland - more recently I was heavily involved in the long fight for equal pay in Scotland's councils.

So I know what I'm talking about and I say Sandie Peggie's case is a watershed moment - a turning point for self-ID, trade unions and public services.
