A friend reports that his idiot son, along with 20 other workmates from the same big company in Glasgow, travelled to London for the England-Scotland match.

All of them caught Covid and all are now isolating at home on full pay.

Covid Communication Breakdown (February 16, 2021)


The latest figures for new Covid cases in Scotland are still stubbornly high with a 7% positivity rate.

The upshot being that far too many people are still ignoring the public safety message about the importance of social distancing - Hands. Face. Space.

Scottish Ministers could do with a more effective comms strategy than a daily dose of the Sturgeon Show.

Scotland's Covid case numbers are falling but still far too high - yesterday saw another 822 new cases with a 7.2% of tests returning positive results.

So after 11 months of daily press conferences the public health message on the importance of social distancing is still not being taken seriously enough.

Twitter asks a very fair question about the continuing high level of new Covid cases despite Scotland being locked down for weeks.

I don't doubt the figures are true, but you would think the politicians and their advisers would have much more to say about what's driving this phenomenon.

Because new Covid cases really ought to be falling far more rapidly.

So here's the issue - two Glasgow MSPs (Nicola Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf) have been asked a reasonable question about their use of public money to employ two SNP councillors who already have full-time, salaried jobs as senior elected members of Glasgow City Council.   But these two public servants (both long-serving ministers) refuse to answer, so what to do next? One regular reader suggests raising the matter on the floor of the Scottish Parliament which is a good idea, but requires an MSP who's prepared to put down a written question for Scottish Ministers to answer.
