Glasgow Councillors - Cllr Rhiannon Spear

I had a look at Cllr Rhiannon Spear's entry in Glasgow City Council's official 'Register of Interests' which says:

Rhiannon Spear (Greater Pollok - 3)

Remuneration 

1) No councillor's salary declared 

2) Air BnB: irregular income from spare bedroom

But this isn't the full story because there's no detail of the councillor salary which Rhiannon is entitled to as Chair of the Education Committee, as senior post which attracts a full-time salary of around £26,000 a year or an hourly rate of £15.

Now I find this interesting because Cllr Spear says she is a 'Law Student' (see tweet below) while carrying out her full-time councillor role with Glasgow City Council. I don't know what the 'TIE' campaign is though I will now make a point of finding out.

Meanwhile Cllr Spear's comments about 'hating the UK' look pretty dumb when the UK has chosen Glasgow to host the COP26 international climate change conference in November 2021.

Also Cllr Spear's comments on 'fair pay' smack of complete hypocrisy when low paid council workers in Glasgow are still fighting for a decent pay rise in 2021 - and for their long standing equal pay claims to be settled.

SNP - Conspiracy of Silence

So here's the issue - two Glasgow MSPs (Nicola Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf) have been asked a reasonable question about their use of public money to employ two SNP councillors who already have full-time, salaried jobs as senior elected members of Glasgow City Council.   But these two public servants (both long-serving ministers) refuse to answer, so what to do next? One regular reader suggests raising the matter on the floor of the Scottish Parliament which is a good idea, but requires an MSP who's prepared to put down a written question for Scottish Ministers to answer.
