Mixed Messages on Coronavirus
George Square was the safest place to be in Glasgow yesterday as hundreds of police flooded the area to prevent any trouble between different groups insisting on their 'right to protest' during lockdown.
Now this came just days after the Scottish Government refused to allow outdoor hospitality spaces to reopen - even with sensible social distancing measures in place.
So the lesson is that people can break the law on public gatherings if you turn up 'mob-handed' and believe you have a righteous cause.
But you can't meet with family or friends for a sociable meal or a drink without everyone involved facing the full force of the law.
