Was Janey Godley A Racist?

Janey Godley made some very ugly racist remarks a few years ago - in public and while playing to the gallery on social media, but was she really a racist?

I thought Godley's behaviour was ghastly at times and her anti-women, tribal politics were awful, but a racist - I don't think so.

Nicola Sturgeon didn't think so either and if I remember correctly, the former SNP leader and First Minister continued to regard Godley as a good friend rather than someone to be condemned.

So it is surprising to see people rushing to condemn Sandie Peggie for some ill-judged comments in private conversations, as if these have anything to do with her appalling treatment at the hands of NHS Fife.

Maybe things would have been different had Sandie been a well-known SNP supporting comedian - who knows?

What I do know is that a female nurse has been subjected to a hugely different standard of treatment compared to a male doctor and that should concern everyone in Scotland - regardless of your politics, race, colour or creed.
