Scotland's Democratic Deficit Over Self-ID
Especially if said councillors then pursue hotly disputed, highly unpopular policies like self-ID and men magically declaring they have 'become women' - which is opposed by the vast majority of Scots including voters in Glasgow.
As long as parties can win places on low turnouts, they won’t really, deeply care. A minimum turnout for seats to be filled would be an interesting thing to try. https://t.co/w2qz9qXcGk

@McGillDonna got 34.5% of a 13.60% turnout. @MhairiHunter got 30% of a 18.70% turn-out. Hardly evidence of ‘gaining ground’. The vast majority of t
he electorate saw nothing & no-body worth turning out to vote for. You’re presiding over a major democratic crisis.
