Glasgow Is A Manky Midden

I was in Glasgow city centre the other day and I was struck at the grubby state of the Sir Walter Scott statue which is the centrepiece of George Square.

The base of the statue is covered in green algae and clearly has not been cleaned in some time - even though it is right under the noses of the elected councillors in Glasgow City Chambers.

Now this is easy enough to clean with Green Mould and Algae Killer which I use myself - so how about Glasgow's politicians showing more in the manky state of the city's public realm?
