Now this photo never fails to make me laugh and goes to show that just because people protest and seek attention - doesn't mean they're right!

There are so many self-righteous, insufferable pricks out on the streets protesting these days - who seem to think the world owes them a hearing. Trans Bams, Pro-Hamas/Pro-Palestinian groupies and Just Stop Oil zealots all seem to think they have a right to force their objectionable views on other people  who decline to agree with them.

Who'd a thought Algerian boxer Imane Khelif was actually a biological male - a man with XY chromosomes, internal testicles and a 'micropenis'?  Especially when this could all have been resolved months ago with the aid of a simple cheek swab test!

  So last night's gig at a packed OVO Hydro in Glasgow was everything I expected - and more. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds showcased their new album - 'Wild God' - but what a frontman and what a band! First time I had heard them 'live', but they were a revelation and put on a fantastic show, an ensemble act of fine musicians at the top of their game. Some songs had an orchestral feel with a powerful 'wall of sound' to match the intense lyrics - I particularly enjoyed 'Tupelo', the story of a great storm on the day Elvis Presley (the King) was born when 'no bird can fly, no fish can swim'. An extraordinary work. The set closed with 'Into My Arms' which Nick Cave sang unaccompanied at the piano - a simple, beautiful number after a rollercoaster of an evening.

The SNP is at war with itself over Alex Salmond and their former leader's legacy. No sooner has Salmond been buried than fresh allegations emerge which were reported previously and were known to the party's chief executive, Peter Murrell - Nicola Sturgeon's husband - so says an anonymous SNP source The same anonymous source, a senior party insider, claims these allegations could not be investigated because Salmond was no longer an SNP member. Baloney, of course. Allegations like this are investigated by taking detailed statements, assessing the evidence and inviting an 'accused' person to respond  - it really doesn't matter if they are no longer a member. Yet this never happened which is doubly absurd for both the complainers and the person being denied a fair opportunity to answer the complaint. So it all seems like another SNP mess - confirmation of the way the way party was run as the personal fiefdom of Peter Murrell and Nicola Sturgeon.

Seems like the trade unions are reluctant to stand up for their members when it comes to women's rights to single sex spaces.  Now something similar happened during the fight for equal pay in Scotland's councils - unions failed to challenge and in some cases actively supported the discriminatory behaviour of employers. So maybe it's time to consider a grass roots 'no win no fee' campaign to sue employers for damages if they try to bully staff into accepting self-ID. Likewise, trade unions could also be in the firing line if they refuse to represent women members, who get bullied and discriminated against in this cowardly way. The Daily Record may be turning over a new leaf. For years the newspaper has been a boring cheerleader for the Scottish Labour party - still is sometimes - but the are encouraging signs that things are changing. Just the other day the Daily Record ran an interesting article on the cost of Scotland's methadone habit - which raised some serious issues. Here's an extract of what the paper had to say - but the key point is that the methadone programme is supposed to be weaning people off drugs for good - not replacing one habit with another. Apparently you can get methadone in prison as well - which may be a good idea in certain circumstances - but I wonder if that's still the case for the repeat offenders who make up much of the prison population. In any event it can only be a good thing if people are questioning the effectiveness of the policy.
