Art Imitating Life

Here's a great example art imitating real life with a kinetic sculpture called Diffusion Choir which mimics the movements of an invisible flock of birds.

The sculpture hangs in the atrium of 650 East Kendall Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and was commissioned by BioMed Realty.

Apparently the movement of the 'birds' is constantly changing and the whole business is driven by clever software featuring a flocking algorithm (whatever that is).
