Labour and the Unions

I spotted an interesting story in The Mirror the other day about a Unite member who is suing his own union, Unite, over a long running dispute about his zero hours contract.

But before I had time to write something and post a web link to the newspaper, the story vanished from public view, apparently following a complaint from Unite.

A Labour-supporting newspaper and a Labour-supporting newspaper ganging up on one one union member who feels hard done by - maybe the chap would send a question for the Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn to raise at next week's PMQs.

In the meantime here's a report from the Guido Fawkes web site which gives a flavour of The Mirror's original report.

The Mirror has long railed against zero hours contracts. No surprise then, that when Britain’s biggest union was being sued by a former employee after they kicked off over their own alleged zero hours contract, The Mirror was on the scene:

Google picked it up:

Shortly after the story went to pixel, it mysteriously vanished. Surely that was nothing to do with Unite sponsoring a weekly column in the paper? Did Len McCluskey monster The Mirror, or are they just staying Unite-d?

UPDATE:

And here's what The Mirror's site now says if you follow the Google link:
