Human Canonball
Here is one of my favourite songs of all time - 'The Human Cannonball' by Loudon Wainwright III - who has acquired a well deserved reputation down the years for self-indulgent and irresponsible behaviour - but even his worst critics must admit that he writes like a dream.
Apparently, Loudon Wainwright wrote The Human Cannonball after reading Emmanuel Zacchini's obituary in a local newspaper - having never met or heard of the man before - yet still he managed to pen this hauntingly beautifully tribute to a life well lived.
Now that takes real talent and what's amazing is that it would be banned in certain countries around the world - for being decadent and politically dangerous.
