North Lanarkshire Council

In a previous post - dated 7 July 2010 - certain issues were highlighted regarding the process of settling claims with North Lanarkshire Council.

A meeting took place recently to address these issues - and good progress was made in discussions with council officials.

The Council has since responded to the majority of the queries - and has, where appropriate, either recalculated existing offers - or made completely new offers to claimants.

But these responses all now require to be carefully checked - which will involve writing individually to claimants concerned - with all the relevant the details.

Inevitably, this process will take a bit of time.

The priority will be to ensure that absolutely everything is done correctly - to avoid further queries - and this will ensure the settlement process is completed as soon as possible.

So, North Lanarkshire claimants who have not yet received an offer - or who have raised a query in relation to their offer - please rest assured that your enquiry is receiving attention.

Please avoid phoning or e-mailing the office asking for an update - until Monday 16 August 2010 – to allow staff the time they need to deal with the backlog of enquiries that has built up over recent weeks.

Your continued cooperation and patience is much appreciated - and will assist greatly clearing up all the outstanding queries - over the next couple of weeks.
