It Was Him - Boyd Tunnock



Boyd Tunnock has been revealed as the mysterious, top-secret donor of a luxury Rolls Royce to Glasgow City Council.

 The decision to accept the vehicle into the Council's fleet was taken personally by Glasgow's chief executive, Annemarie O'Donnell, and in recent days the gift has been welcomed by:
  • The City Council Leader, Cllr Susan Aitken
  • Glasgow's Lord Provost, Cllr Eva Bolander
  • Glasgow North West MP, Carol Monaghan 
I say sell the Roller along with its personalised number plate and put the money aside to help the Council meet the costs of equal pay.

I'd be really 'T'd off' if I were Annemarie O'Donnell because the story about Glasgow City Council's new Rolls Royce keeps 'snowballing' and gathering steam.



Not only does the 'Roller' appear to have had an expensive new paint job, no one seems to know who paid for the vehicle's makeover from 'silver surfer' to ebony black. 



To make matters worse, the Council's argument for keeping the name of the mysterious donor top-secret appears to be 'wafer thin' given the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 and the City Council's total commitment to openness and transparency in its decision-making processes. 



The excitement is becoming too much to bear and wouldn't it just 'take the biscuit' if a senior council official had to resign over the cack-handed handling of the affair?

SNP - Conspiracy of Silence

So here's the issue - two Glasgow MSPs (Nicola Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf) have been asked a reasonable question about their use of public money to employ two SNP councillors who already have full-time, salaried jobs as senior elected members of Glasgow City Council.   But these two public servants (both long-serving ministers) refuse to answer, so what to do next? One regular reader suggests raising the matter on the floor of the Scottish Parliament which is a good idea, but requires an MSP who's prepared to put down a written question for Scottish Ministers to answer.
