Load of Old Balls

Last Thursday Labour's shadow chancellor Ed Balls provided some political cover for his boss Ed Miuliband by releasing figures which appeared too show that the average UK family will be £974 a year worse off - by the time of next year's general election.

But this completely ignores important issue like people's housing costs which are normally the biggest single item in a personal or family budget - and which have fallen significantly as a result of the artificially low interests rates that the country has experienced since 2008.

All of which means, if you ask me, that the two Eds don't know what they're talking about or that they're both willing to engage in a false debate about an alleged 'cost of living crisis' which simply ignores the biggest single item of household expenditure - the cost of people putting a roof over their heads.
