Weasel Words From Yousaf

The problem with politicians like Humza Yousaf is that he doesn't represent all Muslims and he clearly doesn't speak for Islam.

The terrorists behind the Manchester synagogue attack consider themselves to be good Muslims - no doubt even better Muslims, more committed Muslims that Humza himself.

As did the Muslims behind the 7/7 attack on London, the Charlie Hebdo massacre, the murder attempts on Salman Rushdie and the Hamas led atrocities of October 7.

What's urgently needed from Muslim leaders is a commitment to root out this dreadful terrorist ideology - not empty, pious words about Islam being a 'religion of peace'.

Time for politicians like Humza Yousaf and Sadiq Khan to stand up for liberal democracy by rejecting protesters who call for the destruction of the Israeli state.
