Glasgow City Council - In Denial (April 06, 2024)

Glasgow council's SNP leader Cllr Susan Aitken says that Covid is to blame for the city's graffiti problem, but this is baloney - almost as bad as saying that all Glasgow needs is a wee 'spruce up'!

I've been writing about the issue for years, since way before Covid, and the real problem is the lack of joined up strategy for dealing with the issue - which requires political leadership from Glasgow council and the city's politicians.

But this won't happen while the council is in denial about the scale of the problem with litter and graffiti. 





Wake Up, Glasgow! (January 06, 2021)

 

Glasgow city centre has a real and growing problem with graffiti - lots of buildings have been spray painted and the area around South Portland Street suspension bridge is a real eyesore these days. 

In my experience this kind of wanton vandalism just gets worse, if everyone turns an blind eye to the problem.

So I hope Glasgow council has a strategy for cleaning up the city's streets and for tracking down people who think this kind of moronic behaviour is just harmless fun.   









Glasgow, Graffiti and Scumbags (22/12/20)

Here's more idiotic graffiti that someone has sprayed on a building in London Road in the wake of Sunday's Scottish Cup final.

Has to be the same kind of moronic person who vandalised the Billy Connolly mural over in the Gallowgate.

SNP - 'Mr&Mrs' Politburo

Jim Sillars is spot on about the dreadful personality cult which allowed Peter Murrell and Nicola Sturgeon to run the SNP as a 'Mr & Mrs' tag team for years. What's astonishing is that SNP members - party activists, councillors, MSPs and MPs - turned a blind eye to things for so long  which helps explain why the SNP is in such a terrible mess today.
