Dr Richard Simpson is understandably outraged that so many NHS walking aids get thrown away rather than recycled and used again.

Scottish Ministers recently abandoned their ludicrously expensive Deposit Return Scheme yet here's an example of waste on a grand scale right under their noses.

Kentucky Fried Seagull

Hugh Fearnley Whitingstall is one of my favourite - and endearingly bonkers - TV chefs.
