Paul Hutcheon shines a light on the latest 'goings on' in Glasgow City Council, but what's incredible to me is that an elected councillor is not required to explain how their telephone/ICT expenses bill is nearly fifteen times higher than that of her colleagues.

Anne McTaggart contacted the pro-Union party before declaring her support for independence.



A Glasgow councillor who switched sides to the SNP last week held defection talks with the Lib Dems before joining the Nationalists.

Anne McTaggart contacted pro-Union Willie Rennie’s party before coming out in support of independence.

McTaggart was a Glasgow Labour MSP before party members effectively deselected her in 2016.

Anne McTaggart's "telephone and ICT" bill was nearly 15 times higher than her colleagues.


The SNP’s newest councillor has been criticised over a £600 “telephone and ICT” expenses bill.

Anne McTaggart, who defected from Labour to the SNP last week, incurred costs nearly fifteen times higher than her colleagues.

 McTaggart did not respond to the Record’s email.

SNP - Conspiracy of Silence

So here's the issue - two Glasgow MSPs (Nicola Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf) have been asked a reasonable question about their use of public money to employ two SNP councillors who already have full-time, salaried jobs as senior elected members of Glasgow City Council.   But these two public servants (both long-serving ministers) refuse to answer, so what to do next? One regular reader suggests raising the matter on the floor of the Scottish Parliament which is a good idea, but requires an MSP who's prepared to put down a written question for Scottish Ministers to answer.
